Donald, 64 learned to cope with his breathing difficulties
Donald, had severe emphysema and asthma, and was on continuous oxygen. He had night time panic attacks which led to emergency call outs and several hospital admissions. Carers were already preparing his meals during the day. He wanted the Homesharer to do some gardening, the cleaning and washing up. Most importantly, he needed to know that someone was at home with him overnight in case of an emergency with his breathing.
He had a Homesharer for eight months. The match ended when Donald felt confident enough to live alone again. He had learned to cook, regained his zest for life, and realised he could control his breathing. There were no panic attacks or hospital admissions after the Homesharer moved in.
