Muriel, aged 82, appreciates her outings

Muriel decided to have a Sharer because her mobility was getting worse. She had twice daily visits from carers, but was concerned about being alone overnight. She had a large house with two rooms and separate bathroom available for a Sharer. With a good circle of friends Muriel didn’t need a lot of company, but she looked forward to having a younger, lively person around for conversation and outings.

Alice moved in and they immediately hit it off. She and Muriel became firm friends, describing themselves as well-matched with similar outlooks on life. Subsequently, after a spell in hospital, Muriel needed to employ a live-in carer. Even so, she was determined to keep the Homesharing arrangement in place, for as long as Alice wanted to live with her.
